Record support with the world’s biggest cocktail
We presented a Guinness World Record-breaking alcohol-free cocktail in Turin. It was nine meters high and was sold in aid of Telethon.
On Saturday 1 October, judges from Guinness World Records were in Turin to make a new world record official. In Piazza Vittorio Veneto, we played a key role in the creation of the world’s biggest cocktail. A nine-meter high glass, with a diameter of 2.80 meters, conteined at least 30,000 liters of delicious, strictly alcohol-free cocktail.
We have always been in favor of responsible drinking, and we are committed to raising awareness among young people about the harmful effects of alcohol abuse.
As well as raising awareness, the initiative was also an occasion to raise funds. The aim of the event was to raise funds for Telethon. Once the new record has been approved (the judges from Guinness World Records are coming from London to Turin especially for this event), the record-breaking cocktail was sold to the public in individual glasses. The proceeds went to the biomedical research foundation, established in 1990.
“Secret ingredient” of record-breaking cocktail was Strawberry Mixybar, a strawberry fruit concentrate from Fabbri which is extremely popular with bar professionals. A maxi-bottle, four meters high, arrived in Piazza Vittorio Veneto in the evening of Friday 30 September, on a cart pulled by special draught horses.
«This is a great occasion for celebration as well as an event that’s important for society», with these words Nicola Fabbri, the Managing Director of Fabbri 1905, anticiped the initiative. «Our company has been promoting the concept of responsible drinking for many years. We are committed to offering valid alternatives to alcoholic drinks, especially for young people. I’m really happy that today this commitment can go hand in hand with a fundraising event in support of Telethon».
