Florence Gelato Festival: Fabbri will deal with the ingredients
Are you ready for a really sweet weekend? If so, get your palate ready for the second edition of the Florence Gelato Festival, which will take place from 25 to 29 May. There is a packed calendar of events as well as live creations from top Italian gelato-makers as well as a stroll across the Ponte Vecchio. These, together with the ones supplied by Fabbri, are the ingredients for the Festival aimed at all the gourmets out there.
There will be two villages dedicated to the two different types of gelato: the Artisan Village will be situated in Piazza Pitti, which will form the background, together with the Boboli Gardens, for tasting stands and visible workshops where gelato-makers will prepare their artisan gelato. The Industrial Village, on the other hand, will be located in Piazza della Repubblica.
Furthermore, this year the event has not forgotten the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, since artisan gelato is an absolutely typical Italian product, and an important part of our country’s culinary history. Fabbri will also be there to represent the history of Italy, as an official supplier of the Florence Gelato Festival. In addition to its products for artisan gelato, including first and foremost the immortal Amarena, the company will present some of the works from the first three editions of the Fabbri Art Prize, the biennial review established by the company in 2005. A few of the works of painting, sculpture and photography will be reunited for the first time, and will be displayed in Palazzo Pitti for the duration of the Festival, inside the “Rondò di Bacco” area. The works pay homage to the history of our country because they were inspired by the symbology and history of Fabbri, as well as by its unforgettable products such as the Amarena, and the legendary “Inventabibite” syrups.
Lastly, this year the stands will also have a new timetable, since they will be open from midday to midnight. Other innovations include workshops for children and adults, musical initiatives and the presentation of TONDA by IFI S.p.A., the first and only round, rotating gelato display case. There will also be a happy hour... naturally with an emphasis on artisan gelato! Don’t miss this delicious event which will delight and refresh the palates of adults and children alike.
